Role Overview

As a Social Media Manager (Intern), you will amplify Duckweed Labs’ presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, and beyond. You’ll engage a broad audience, build valuable PR relationships (both space-focused and general media), and help us tell our story as a pioneering force in space nutrition. This is a chance to grow your marketing expertise in a high-potential, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
 

  • Social Platform Management:

    • Create and schedule regular posts for LinkedIn and Instagram, showcasing project milestones, team insights, and industry trends.
      Monitor platform analytics, identify engagement opportunities, and tweak content strategies for maximum reach.

  • Media Outreach:

    • Pitch and secure features in blogs, space-focused media, and non-space outlets to broaden brand visibility.

    • Build and maintain a database of relevant journalists, bloggers, and influencers.

  • Audience Engagement:

    • Interact with followers, respond to comments, and encourage meaningful dialogue.

    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.

  • PR & Relationship Building:

    • Develop collaborative PR strategies to cultivate strong media relationships and increase brand credibility.

    • Identify partnership opportunities with thought leaders, organizations, and events aligned with our mission.

  • Strategic Growth:

    • Research and propose new ways to engage broader demographics, including educational, scientific, and commercial sectors.

    • Analyze social media metrics and industry trends to refine content calendars and communications plans.


Requirements
 

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen (required for ITAR compliance)

  • Education: Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • ​​Time Zone: Eastern Time Zone

  • Social Media Expertise: Familiarity with LinkedIn and Instagram best practices, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics.

  • PR & Outreach: Basic understanding of pitching processes, media relationship building, and influencer partnerships.

  • Communication Skills: Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities; comfortable adapting style to different platforms.

  • Soft Skills: Proactive, organized, and collaborative. Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote team environment.
