Owen Sowalla is a senior in Computer Engineering at George Mason University on an accelerated track to an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on robotics and controls. His interests span aerospace, oceanographic systems, AI, and full-stack systems engineering.
He brings strong hands-on experience in systems design and project management, including work with NASA-funded Duckweed Labs on technologies for cultivating fresh greens in space. Owen also serves as Electrical Officer for George Mason’s RoboSub club, supporting the university’s autonomous underwater robotics team for an international annual competition. He is driven by challenging, interdisciplinary projects that expand both his technical depth and leadership skills.
