Katy Weber is a Microbiology and Cell Science PhD Candidate at the University of Florida studying stress adaption in extremophilic organisms. At Duckweeds Labs, she works as Chief Scientist supporting the cultivation and experimental growth of duckweed, covering essential supplies including growth media, nutrients, lighting systems, temperature sensors, and other equipment necessary to maintain controlled conditions for sustained duckweed production. Throughout the device's development and optimization, she continues to support the project through the preparation of additional proposals, abstracts, oral presentations, and research posters.
